$2,000 Sponsorship. Summer 2009. SEW Eurodrive donated $1,500 to sponsor two Robotics Camps for underprivileged kids in the Summer of 2009. The Spartanburg Youth Council awarded $500 for the camps.

$2967 Research Grant. Fall 2008. Magellan Scholars Award through USC Columbia to work with a student on Robotic 3D Construction of Unknown Surfaces.

$15,706 Sponsorship and Grant. Fall 2008. Monies secured for the 2009 Research Symposium and Undergraduate Research Journal: $9,706 awarded by an EPSCOR/IDEA Research Symposia Grant; $4,000 from Staubli; and $2,000 from the Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System.

$300 Donation – Car Door. Fall 2008, Used to set up a 3D-model reconstruction system which uses a camera and laser attached to a robotic arm. Donated by Dixie Too Auto Parts.

$25,000 Service Grant. Fall 2008, Established a Faculty Release Time Program for the newly created Office of Sponsored Awards and Research Support. Funded by USC Columbia. CO-PI: Elaine Marshall.

$23,460 Service Grant. 2008-2009, Established a Research Experience Program for USC Upstate students with the Orthopaedic Research Foundation of the Carolinas which generates indirect funds to supports on-campus student research activities. Spring 2008: $15,640; 2008-2009 Academic year: $7,820.

$6,100 Research Grant, Fall 2004 Linking a Syntactic Partial Parse to Semantic Verb Predicates, USC Research and Productivity Scholarship (R&PS), Funds used to employ (part-time) an undergraduate research assistant for the 2004-2005 academic year and purchase a computer for Natural Language Processing research purposes.

$925 Research Grant (CO-PI). Fall 2009. PI: Jack Turner. Funds used to purchase cameras, rock crawler, and robotic arm kit for the “Peepers” robotics exploration project.
