Sebastian van Delden's Community Engagement Robotics and Undergraduate Research(2007-) - Design and implement the 2011-2012 robotics program for the Spartanburg Day School Eight Grade class. - Worked to establish robotics internships for USC Upstate students at: Staubli, SEW Eurodrive. - Partnered with the Spartanburg Science Center, Upstate Workforce Investment Board, and the Promised Land Ministries on robotics summer camps for middle/high school students. - Offered low-cost robotics summer camps - only a small application fee is required, thanks to the camp sponsor: SEW Eurodrive - Visited Upstate pre/elementary/middle/high schools to demo one of our robotics arms, including Byrnes Middle, Landrum Middle/High, Woodruff Middle, Chapman High, Girl Scout Troops, Montessori Academy, and homeschooled groups. Kids learn a little about robotics, watch a demonstration, and then interact with the machine. - Have received financial support, technical support, and/or equipment donations from numerous regional businesses, including: Stäubli Robotics, SEW Eurodrive, Automation Engineering Corporation, BMW ITRC, Orthopaedic Research Foundation of the Carolinas, Spartanburg Steel, Spartanburg Regional Hospital, Milliken & Company, QS/1, Spartanburg Bomb Squad, and J and J Industrial Services. North Spartanburg Rotary Club Member (2007-2010) - Vocational Service Chair (2008-2010): Organized onsite club meetings at QS/1, SEW Eurodrive, Jose/Bearden Breast Health Center, Plastics Recycling Center. - The Rotary Club participates in a variety of civic engagement activities. I have participated in Christmas in Action, Mobile Meals, Adopt-a-Highway, Salvation Army Bell Ringers, Music on Main, and others. Orthopaedic Research Foundation of the Carolinas (2008-2009) - Worked as a consultant with Dr. Chad Cook at Duke and the ORFC on shoulder injury database studies. Spartanburg Science Center Board (2009) - Serve on the working Board of Directors of the Spartanburg Science Center at the Chapman Culture Center.
