Relief

Anger shined brightly for a moment.
Shortlived as it was, it healed
old wounds - gaping, though mostly forgotten.

Remorse firmly trapped in a rage
strained to save those memories,
now ashes among the ambers of the blaze.

Drawn from the depths for pleasure
to sever the past's tight reign -
the loss, but for the heart, was my gain.
