Daybreak

The coming light enthralls me,
For sight my spirit yearns.
When will the night release me,
And weary shadows turn ?

I know your time approaches.
Nere such a night has been.
Too long the light denied me,
Too long its efforts hidden.

With fear and some with terror,
Your strength is widely known.
Though some would firm renounce it,
This claim I make my own:

The warmth of light is telling,
I know my strength is gone.
Through effort! may claim others,
For me there is but dawn.
