Essays and other valiant efforts

I plan to list a number of essays here that I wrote as an undergraduate at Armstrong Atlantic State University. I will include more recent efforts later on. For now, this is a good place to store them and decide how I feel about being humbled before the masses...

The Real "A" Essay was written after I received an A- on about four essays in a row in English 101-Composition (two without a single red mark). The instructor said I was boring, and that I should write something more interesting. When I gave her 'The Real "A" Essay' she loved it; but said she did not give extra credit. Anyway, she suggested I submit it in an essay contest and it won third place. The cover letter for the paper got discarded because I did not think it was as good as the essay, but you might get a kick out of it. Anyway, I hope you enjoy either or both. I think the essay is hilarious...

After I recovered from all the "A-" bruises and forged on to take English 102-Literature, I wrote Pain, Distance and Time about the poem "Neutral Tones" by Thomas Hardy. This essay was published in the college literary magazine (which won national awards that year despite my entry). I will have to figure out something about making the poem available...
