Introduction/Purpose:
The Upstate, for these purposes, is defined as including parts
of Anderson, Cherokee, Chester, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg, Union,
and York counties -- based primarily on drainage systems. This region contains both
natural and economic wealth. Making informed decisions relating to those is our
challenge and responsibility. A snapshot of the environment in the Upstate can be
found using these tools/links. Obviously, a detailed research project would require
many other sources, including both free and fee-based information specifically geared to
the environment, law, business, as well as news. This page is being developed
continually.
