* The instructor reserves the right to change the schedule in order to fulfill the goals of the course.

Class Policies:

·         Keep cell phone off in class.

·         No late assignment submission will be accepted.  No makeup exam unless a written proof of extenuating circumstances (e.g., medical emergency) is provided. Arrangements for make-up exams or late assignments must be made in advance.

·         Any cheating or plagiarism behave will result a grade of “F” in this course as well as possible University disciplinary measures.

Cheating and Plagiarism:

·         Your grade on everything in the course is to be based on your own work. Cheating in any form is a violation of the honor code (available in the student handbook), and will be reported to the Dean of Students. A first offense will result in a zero for the assignment / test. If the offense is not the first, the consequence will likely be the failure for the course.

·         For the term project, do not copy and paste from literature or the Web. The term project should be based on your analysis. If you do use words from the literature or the Web, be appropriately cited. Plagiarism (using others’ work, including paraphrasing—from the web or anyplace else—without proper attribution) will result in a zero. Plagiarism is a violation of the student honor code and will be reported to the Dean of Students.

Disability Accommodations:

“In keeping with University policy, any student with a disability who requests academic accommodations should contact Disability Services at 503-5199 to arrange a confidential appointment with the Disability Services Coordinator.  Students are encouraged to seek an appointment as early in the semester as possible, as accommodations are not provided retroactively.  Letters of accommodation must be signed and printed on letterhead from the Disability Services office.  It is the student’s responsibility to provide these letters to professors in a timely manner so that accommodations may be put in place.”
