Many of you have expressed difficulty in trying to discern what is going on in lecture. Therefore I have created this set of links on how to take lecture notes. This is intended to supplement advice I have offered in class. It reiterates some of the points I have made.
I cannot stress the importance of reading the assigned material first, not to commit it to memory. You need ideas or issues written on paper (not long notes but some talking points at least) before you can successfully gain anything from my lectures. My lectures are based on the presumption that you have read and that you understand the context. If not, hopefully the chapter guides will remedy that.
