P repare by carefully reading the directions.

C oordinates must be expressed correctly (ordered pair notation).

S corers are not mind readers: make sure your explanation is clear!Recently, in Columbia, several levels of math educators met with representatives from Data Recognition Corporation of Ohio (the company contracted to score items on P.A.C.T. that are not multiple-choice questions). Rubrics for open-ended questions were reviewed for universality of application. During these work sessions it became apparent that students had not earned the maximum number of points on many items due to carelessness and inattention to detail. The above reminders are provided to help teachers encourage students to be attentive to details that will make a difference!
