The MathMate is a publication of the South Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics designed to disseminate information for professional development for mathematics educators and ideas for the mathematics classroom.

Editorial Policy
Contributions about mathematics, the study of mathematics, or the teaching of mathematics are both welcomed and eagerly solicited. The MathMate needs articles, lesson plans, and announcements from around the state. We also encourage teachers to submit descriptions of effective teaching strategies. Contributions must be typed (for legibility) and signed. While the contribution can and will be retyped as needed, it would be greatly appreciated if it arrives properly formatted, so that only the header and footer need be added. The MathMate uses one-inch margins on the sides, and a one-inch header and footer allowance. The font most frequently used is size 12 Book Antiqua. Contributions may be sent to the editor through the Internet. E-mail your contributions to prevostd@comcast.net.  Remember that these may have to be converted; send them a day or two early so that reception can be confirmed. Single page items can be sent in the e-mail, but longer ones should be properly sent in a file (we use Word).
We will be adding an Editorial Page to The MathMate and encourage you to send your comments.

The next MathMate deadline for all articles is May 1, 2004.
